Weather Day - sort of

More cloud than sun today, which wasn't altogether unwelcome. Wind also changed around and was coming towards us, which also cooled things down a bit but it might make for some stirred up snorkelling for a day or two. A bit of morning beach time, laundry for Mandy, and then we decided to go on a road trip to Palmetto Bay for lunch. While Glen and Eileen were on the beach I took a few shots of the house while there was not a blazing sun.

One of the neighbours came over to the house today (she owns a house here) and told us that her fish guy was coming by today. We said we'd take enough Grouper for the four of us, and left her with some money to buy for us. We drove up to Palmetto Bay, which is a bit off the beaten path. If you ever wanted a laid back, quiet spot for a vacation this would be one choice. Very quiet here and miles of near deserted beach.

Had a decent lunch here but it was a bit overpriced although they do have a somewhat captive market. The other three all tried the Monkey Lalas and declared that they were the best they've had. Drove back home, hit one good downpour and found that it had barely rained at the house. A couple of naps were had, a couple of drinks consumed and then we headed off to Oasis for dinner. It's right on the highway between here and West End, with little roadside appeal but once you come around behind the house and enter the place it changes completely. Beautiful set up that they have and the food may be the best that we've had this year which probably explains why they've gone to top spot on trip advisor for Roatan restaurants. Without Besos here anymore, I think it might take my top spot too. Glen and Mandy both had some Chipotle back ribs, I had a marinated steak, and Eileen had SIngapore noodles. For appies, Eileen had a blue cheese soup with gnochi and we shared a flatbread with mozza, eggplant and balsamic drizzle. For a small island, we sure get fed well.

Couple of dives planned for the morning. I think the others are going to beach walk it to West End, do a snorkel at Half Moon, and then have lunch there. Might be the most pre-planning we've done for awhile. We stilll have to hook up with Steve and get another golf booking made. He hasn't been working at the paddle shack the last two times we've stopped by. I expect he'll be there tomorrow when I go to dive.
