The morning didn't start off too promising with heavy rain for an hour or so starting around 7:00. We left the house about 8:15 and made it to the course without hitting any more rain. The course is in great shape, the greens are like carpet and there are very few rough spots on the fairways. There are a ton of workers doing maintenace, even saw a few with grubhoe looking tools who must have been trying to remove patches of what we would call quack grass. They have re-organized the layout of the course in terms of the hole sequence, and they haven't gotten their new scorecards yet, so it was a bit more challenging trying to find our way around the course. There had just been a big group of 8-10 golfers that went out right ahead of us, so we were told to start on number 10, which was really nice because we hardly saw anyone all day. We did get hit with a couple of heavy rains just after our first nine holes, but we waited them out. The club sent a cart out after the first rain with big towels for everyone. Conner; can you follow up on this for the Legends this year...
Here's Glen displaying his hip swing as he puts a little extra into the T shot
Here is my set up on a par three, all looks well, alignment good, etc, notice the location of the bunkers to the left of the green
Here is the location of my second shot. The speck in the distance is me, must have been the pull of the tides or something... Notice the location of the bunkers to the right of the photo. Fortunately, this was my only really poor hole of the day. Finished with a 96.
Repeated the same post game routine as last time, with a visit to Herbies Sports bar for a beer and 4:00 lunch. It's a nicely air conditioned place with plenty of Olympics on, and pretty views from the decks.
Everyone is pretty lazy tonight, a bit of reading going on, some US Olympic coverage (Kevin Martin working for NBC!!). Couple of morning dives booked, it's been a few days so it'll be nice to blow bubbles again.
It was beautiful out here today!! Ok...not golf weather, but still nice! Had the kitchen window cracked open for a while this afternoon. :) The girls are on their second sleepover night in a row...Taryn's week off of school...they've been looking forward to it for a while. Hopefully they sleep in past 7:30 once.. lol
