Great dive day

Went and did the two early dives this morning, the first was a drift dive back near Pablo's Place and the second one was at Gibson Byte Channel. The drift dive was the best one yet this year. Lots of current this morning to move us along and a lot of different fish to see. Several Scrolled Filefish, one with a juvenille that was a completely different color scheme from the adult, a Whitespotted Filefish, and one little Sharpnose Puffer, which I have never seen before.

On the second dive we saw a pair of Spotted Eaglerays swimming together and then a couple of minutes later there was another single one. One big moray with only his tail and a portion of body showing, a huge lobster, and a few fireworms. The rays were too far away for a photo but I did get some mediocre video.

Glen had a long snorkel but returned to shore with a dead camera in which he later found some moisture that had corroded the battery contacts. He's not too happy about that.

Nice weather day with enough sun to be pleasant and enough cloud to keep it cool. Heavy rain tonight which started just after we returned from our Tuesday tapas and tunes night at Tranquil Seas. As usual the entertainment was good, both the music and the antics on the dance floor. The bats are putting on a show for us on the deck tonight, with five or six of them trying to get into the hummingbird feeder. No wonder it gets drained every night.

Tomorrow Carol is supposed to arrive but we've got our fingers crossed. She had a tight connection in Chicago and it looks like her inbound flight from Winnipeg was delayed, so we'll wait and see how that turns out. She may be seeing more of O'Hare airport that she had planned on.
