Valentines Day

I headed to West end for the early dives, which got rolling a bit late as they had to wait a bit for the boat to get back. They had taken it to the south side for a couple of dives yesterday when it was windy. I didn't enjoy the first dive too much, the visibility was lower than usual and the way the channels and everything were, I spent way too much time trying to get some space from other divers. My designated buddy was a bit green too, so that didn't help. There was no predicting his next move. The second dive was much better. Visibility was much greater and the terrain allowed us to spread out more. One huge moray, a couple of lizardfish, and a lot of nice sponges.

The others had walked to West End where Glen did some T-shirt shopping and then had a snorkel in Half Moon bay. I met them on the deck at Half Moon for lunch. Got back to the house and did very little in the afternoon. Glen did a snorkel, Eileen did a bit of kayaking, and then there were a few good showers.

Drove to Flowers Bay for dinner tonight at Gios. I figured the place would hole 200 people so there would be little need for a reservation. Got there about 6:30 and were easily seated, however by the time we left there was a lineup at the door. Glad we went for supper early. Mandy had lobster, Glen did some coconut shrimp, and Eileen and I split a Gios special which has crab, lobster, and shrimp. Good meal and great mojitos according to Mandy.

And here's one from last night with the bats feeding from the hummingbird feeder.

Tomorrow we either have to find Steve or bite the bullet and pay full rates at the golf course. I saw him this morning when I was getting ready to dive, which normally would mean that he'll be around his paddle board shack for the day, but when the dive ended, he was gone. We'll try phoning him in the morning. I also have to remember to see if we can adjust the headlights in the car. The left one lights up the treetops for bird watching, while the right one watches for crabs somewhere around the centerline, not that there is a centerline on any of these roads.....
