I'm trying to remember what we did all morning, and quite honestly, I don't have a clue. I swept up the leaves on the stairway and the driveway, but other than that, I guess it was pretty uneventful. Took a few pictures for Glen.......OK, so that first picture didn't drop quite where it was supposed to. That's the house from the meadow area down below.
This one is taken from the deck doors looking into the living room, dining room, and kitchen. I earlier mentioned that there were no straight aways in the house, this is the only one and it's a long one.
Here's a picture of some of the local wildlife taken from the back steps. This is an Agouti, known locally as an Island Rabbit. They're related to Guinea pigs. At first glance they look like a big rat but they can move pretty fast. In retrospect, that rat that I saw once when I jumped into the compost bin moved pretty fast too....and so did I.
We spent a bit of time this afternoon down at the pool, Eileen soaked up a few sun rays and is feeling the heat tonight. I came back to the house early, booked a couple of dives for tomorrow and got my camera set up for diving. Then we drove down to West Bay and had a happy hour drink at Fosters, Eileen had her first Monkey lala of the holiday. While we were there we commented on the extremes, the quiet and solitude of our house and the hustle and bustle of West Bay. We're not sure if we want what we have or some happy medium. I'm pretty happy with what we have..... Finished off those drinks and then headed to Smugglers for the game. What a blast that was. I didn't hurt that there were two chairs at the bar right in front of the TV when we got there, most of the people choose tables. The place is owned by a very young couple (late 20's) and our seats were right where she did most of the book keeping. She was so funny, right from the start. As soon as we sat down she was selling us squares for the game but she confessed that she messed up because she had already written the numbers for the squares along the side, so of course everyone was picking the high probability ones. There was lots of chatter about that, and then when the game started and there was a 2 point play, well she was off selling the unsold ones, cause they were hot items again. The food was terrific, we had a shrimp quesadia (sorry not spelled right but you know what I mean) and a dozen wings. Great wings, and those suckers didn't come off small chickens either. The cooking area is right along one part of the bar and that poor guy was working his butt off tonight. I told the woman that hubby was going to sleep well tonight and she said that he would either sleep well or he would be so pumped that he wouldn't sleep at all. They haven't been open long and this was likely their first big event. Here's what their bar area looks like.
I had a feeling coming down this year that this place was going to be good, and it's living up to expectations. We'll be spending a good amount of time there in the coming weeks.
Looking forward to blowing some bubbles tomorrow.....
Addendum: Glen; they have Amaretto Sours on their drink menu at Smugglers.....
ReplyDeleteDon't see Sours on a menu. Usually have to tell the bartender how to make it. Did Eileen have one?
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to reading about today's diving and how it works out with the new dive shop. Do they allow snorkelers to come along if there's room?
