View from the balcony of the clubhouse
I found it humerous when we got to the driving range. I couldn't see any balls there, but then the caddy went over by a tree and picked up one of those ball plucker devices and emptied it out for us so that we had balls to hit. While we were there another young guy wandered in, and as soon as we finished hitting our driving range shots, he headed out with the ball plucker to pick up the range balls. That's not something that you're going to see in Canada.
Well my game went about normal, the picture of inconsistency. Here's a summary of one five hole sequence; 7 over, par, par, 5 over, par, and in that stretch I scored 5 bingo, bango, bongo points. But no, I was not the winner, Eileen was crowned champion of the 101 FM golf outing with a total of 18 points.
Pictures don't do the course justice.
And the best part is that the station must have swung a sweet deal with the golf course because the green fees ($1,700) all went toward a charity which is sending one kid to the Sandy Bay Alternative school. Total fun day.
Stopped in at the Bulk Gourmet shop in French Harbour on the way home and scoured through their freezers. They have a really good selection of frozen meats there. Picked up a packet of steaks, chicken wings, and boneless pork chops. The chops were $7. Did them up on the BBQ tonight and they were delicious. Turned in a crate of empties at the beer depot, with a refill of course ($23), picked up a few groceries in Coxen Hole, a couple of jugs of water at the gas station, and then it was back to the house.
Did that day ever go fast........got the morning dives booked for tomorrow, Lots of stars out tonight so I think it might just be another one of those kind of lazy sunny afternoon days down here......
