The Osmonds are here!

A very soggy and windy day in Roatan, but are those big waves ever cool to watch crashing in on the shore in front of the house.  Need a few lens cleanings today to get the salt spray off the glasses.
Started the day off with a drive through Coxen Hole, which I have only been through in a taxi a couple of times in the middle of the day.  I figured a Sunday morning with stiff winds and a good rain would be a good time to try and naviagate that skinny little main street.  Wasn't so bad, and we even spotted the fish market that we want to hit, of course this was Sunday morning.  Continued on and went to Plaza Mar, which is a grocery store that we haven't been in before.  Not quite as good as French Harbour, but much closer.  The girls made a nice pot of black bean soup for lunch, then it was off to the airport.  when you exit the customs area at the airport, there are always a ton of people holding up signs for various resorts, etc, so Eileen and Betty made up a sign for me saying "Glen & Mandy".  I was waiting therre for them with my cardboard sign held high....they got a good laugh.
A stop at the grocery store for them and off to the house.  The last time we vacationed with them was in Tobago, and it is so similar here,  windy roads with many hills and such lush foliage.  We got to the house and they loved it, despite the rain and the crashing surf.  Mandy said it will be so nice to sleep with the swishing of the waves but we corrected here on her terminology.  A great meal at the Argentinian Grill, a game of sticks on the deck (that I came in last), and then an early night (9:30 now and I'm all alone....)
Tomorrow we plan a trip to French Harbour to the fabric store (I can be firm here based on luggage space), a stop at the supermarket to stock up, and then a visit to the bulk beer store (lots of trunk space tomorrow).  We've only got the car for a couple more days, so our freedom is about to be curtailed a bit.  It's been $40 a day for the car, but it has sure been nice to just get up and go somewhere on a whim.
Till tomorrow.......should have taken a picture of the crashing surf but I didn't.....
